Henry T. Rock was born in a farm on July 9, 1879. He was the youngest of three boys. Henry had an interest in playing the violin as a young boy. In fact, in 1888, his father got a violin for Henry when he just turned 9. He'd practice the violin every day for about an hour and he'd just love the sound that came out of it. In 1896, Henry entered his schols orchestra and won three awards. By 1900, he went to New York for performences. He became really famous to the public and won lots of rewards. Later in 1907, they named the genre, "Rock" after him. After that he had a nice smooth career intill his death in 1932. They named a city named Rockville after him.
